Inglorious Basterds review « Thread Started on Sept 10, 2009, 11:40am »
At least you said it and not me, Momar. I mean, you were nicer than I would have been. I toyed with the idea of writing a review for this piece of shit movie after I saw it, but finally decided that I didn't want to be eaten alive by rabid Tarantino fans, so I declined. I remember back when Quentin Tarantino made good movies. Now he advertises a movie with a lot of blood, gore, and Nazi killing and all we get are long, tedious scenes of people standing around talking. God, and I thought "Death Proof" was bad. It's like Tarantino believed his own hype and decided that his characters don't even have to DO anything anymore and people will still pay to see his movies. Fuck that.
I really liked Inglorious Basterds, it was one of my favorite movies I've seen this year to be honest. I mean, I would put it on the same list as his other films, it isn't AS good as Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs and such, but I liked it a lot. I can more than understand why someone wouldn't like it, there is a lot of talking, but for some reason I usually find the conversations interesting and it keeps me entertained. I don't know, I liked it.
This movie is the first Tarantino flick that I have no real desire to see. I'll see it eventually but it's not the be all, end all that his movies used to be for me.
I will not be seeing this movie as a way of protesting Tarantino, his fan boys, and everyone last one of those motherfuckers who tells me I HAVE to see this.
